what teams are in the league this season?

In the Mens league
Lugnasa,
Dublin Int,
DCU,
Kildare,
UCD.

For the Women
St.Pats,
UCD,
Terenure,
Lugnasa.

UCD is not full size court either...

And goals in Columbas College are not exactly what IHF rules specified... just to help on IOHA efforts

Sorry ofr coping post, but i have one more thing to add. IOHA efforts should be focused on implementing IHF rules. Therefore suitable size should be 20x40, like in "real Handbll world".

Good Luck

As said in the post, IOHA is gradually implementing rules as the general circumstances permits or need. Needs means that big boys should play in big halls. Circumstances means that we don't have many 40x20, and those we have are not easily available and quite expensive. Currently the rule IOHA has is a min of 32x20. UCD is bit bigger, St. Columbas is 36x20, and Handball goals have been purchased...will be there soon

Ok thanks for clarfications. By those ironic comments, i was trying to say that playing handball in Dublin is really hard, and after these limitations is going to be even harder. Is that what you really want? I know that there some targets that IOHA is chasing, but i can see that numbers of players is decreasing. Targets might need to be reviewed soon... Be careful

yes, but the comment that you defined ironic, are not ironic for many others. Also playing in a small hall is not fun for anybody, and quite dangerous when the wall is too close.

Sorry, forgot to sign last comment.
Anyway, yes number of senior teams is going down, but IOHA is trying to focus energy and resources onto junior handball. hopefully it will pay back. will know in a few years. Over last few years nothing really happened at senior level. Number of teams were and are more linked with the general Irish economy than with IOHA effort and policy.

hehehe... good to hear that.
We don't care about you Seniors, but kindly pay us 600e per game... Nice IOHA, at least this season everything is clear. Nobody is bullshitting that IOHA is doing their best for everyone who pay for membership.

PS. I think even Bundesliga is cheaper

First, I can guarantee that the entry fee in even the lowest german league is over tousand € (was about 2k in Italy 8 years ago). I might agree with you that 750 is way too much for a 5 teams league, but I can also guarantee to you that even if you make it free, you will not have many more teams joining in, but max one. Sure, there is a balance somewhere, and we need to find it. Also the reason why fees are quite high in europe is that money get re-invested in junior development. Unfortunately here money still get lost in some black hole.....but this is a longer discussion, and in this forum would simply be wasted time.

Ok, I admit I wasn't right. here italian fees for senior teams (I think we compare to the lowest.
Affiliation:top league €1000, lowest €150. Entry fee: top league €300, lowest €50. referees fees per single match: top league €1200, lowest €60. but then there is a bounch of fines for minor little things like: start match late (€1000-42), missing medical assist (€400-80), missing security service (€200-50), colours jerseyes(€1000-150)...etc. Ah, hall size, top league 40x20, lowest leages 32x18. nothing less than this, not even U14.
