IOHA nominates New General Manager
The Irish Olympic Handball Association (IOHA) announced the appointment of Lúcás Ó'Ceallacháin as General Manager of the IOHA.
Ó'Ceallacháin has over 10 years experience in the sports sector and recently completed his MSc in Sport and Exercise Management at UCD. In addition to his MSc he holds qualifications in Sports Psychology, Sports Journalism, Athlete Performance Pathways, Coaching and Strength and Conditioning.
A former rugby international with Kazakhstan, Ó'Ceallacháin has worked extensively with rugby in countries where rugby is a minority sport, including Kazakhstan, Russia and Finland.
We wish the best of luck to Lúcás, and look forward to work with him on future projects
What a great start. Did not care show up at the finals. Guess must be of Fintans schooling. Missed great opportunity to meet the real handball people in one place. Probably just blending in with IOHA culture.
I certainly hope I am wrong and this is not another puppet, but it sure does not look good so far.

In fairness if Lughnasa were in the final the whole IOHA would have been there!

Maybe, but I dont think so, it seems to me that even they are placed well behind self serving purposes of the few. I was just hoping that they employed someone with real interest in developing the game, but...

Well, true, if Lughnasa were in the Final the whole IOHA board would have been present, but we need to note that the whole IOHA board plays/coach/manage Lughnasa. Also in fairness, I know we all love "the president", but we had the IOHA competition officier doing the referee, the IOHA Secretary doing the score, with the IOHA admin (who also is the Development Officer according to the EHF website), so 2/3 IOHA board members is not to be ignored.

There are a few people in IOHA that actualy care and put in the effort, but are undermined by top management. Mick Moloney but few others as well have been helpful and professional in their dealings with DI. Thanks to the four officials that were there from all of DI.

The fact is that the president of the assiciation did not attend the final of the senior domestc league. I can not immagine this happining in any other sport in Ireland. It show a complete lack of respect towards the players and the orgainisers. And the Irish coach who selects the Irish men´s team does not attend league matches. This is completely unacceptable.
